DESCRIPTION

The ancestor of the Christmas ball appears on the nineteenthe century : a decorative blown glass ball, called ball, usually used for "Spot evil spirits", refines and joins the other decorations generally hung on fir trees in the 1830 years. At that time, to give them a shiny appearance and a uniform reflection, these old Christmas balls were made in mercury glass, a blown glass covered inside silver nitrate or mercury From 1847, a glass blower Lauscha begins the production of Christmas balls in blown glass, then repeatedly and in a chain from 1867, through the use of a blower using gas.
