Okra sauce

Recipe Gombo sauce with beef meat (shrimps; ...)


  • 500g of beef
  • 100g fresh okra (about 12 pieces)
  • Rock salt (kanwa)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cubes Maggi
  • Peanut oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic


  • Prepare your meat and cut it into pieces
  • Heat a little oil in a saucepan and brown the onion cut into strips and the chopped garlic. Add the meat, salt and pepper
  • Leave to brown until the juice produced by the meat dries up. Then add water to the meat, cover and cook for 1 hour
  • Finely chop the okra and set it aside. When the meat is cooked, add water to the height of the meat and add the powdered rock salt
  • Add the okra, salt and pepper, season with cubes and cook for 30 minutes without the lid
  • Serve with the fufu or couscous of your choice, or a scoop of millet
